Australia produces 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste each year, which equates to 100 kg per person, according to the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. If we’re to tackle this alarming issue, we must get creative with our thinking.

This hands-on workshop presents an optimistic answer to our plastic problem. From shredding, colour selection and blending through to moulding and hand-finishing, you'll be shown firsthand how to repurpose plastic. Along with a newfound appreciation for waste, you’ll take home your own mini succulent plant pot.

Hosted by Precious Plastic Melbourne, a community-focussed initiative working to nurture a grassroots recycling movement across the country, this workshop offers an opportunity to rethink the way we design, use and reuse plastics.

This workshop would provide a perfect team-building activity for those working in the retail and design industries, or be of interest to anyone from the public who is passionate about the intersection of sustainability and creativity.
