Founded by the Black Graduate and Professional Student Association (BGPSA) in 2011, the Renaissance Ball, which is named in honor of the Harlem Renaissance, celebrates the diversity of the Cornell graduate community and promotes the inclusion of all of its members.
The annual Renaissance Ball has since evolved into a collaborative effort of the graduate student organization represented on the Graduate and Professional Student Diversity Council, and brings together graduate and professional students for a night of live music, great food, dancing, and community.
This event is supported by the GPSA-FC and is open to all graduate and professional students! Co-hosted by the Graduate School Office of Inclusion & Student Engagement, and the member organizations of the GPS DC: The Arab Graduate Student Association, Black Graduate and Professional Student Association, First Generation and Low-Income Graduate Student Organization, Graduate Women in Science, Indigenous Graduate Student Association, Latinx Graduate Student Coalition, Multicultural Academic Council, LGBTQ+ Graduate Student Organization, Society for Asian American Graduate Affairs, and the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science.
