Short Track Speed Skating: 500m W/M + 3000m W/5000m M Relay + 2000m Mixed Team Relay
4;00pm - 6:25pm: 500m M/W
6:35pm - 7:15pm: 3000m W/5000m M Relays
7:25pm - 7:40pm: 2000m M/W Mixed Team Relay
Men's and Women's 500m: In this event, four skaters complete 4.5 laps, at speeds up to 25mph, and “lean” into the corners to counter the 3.0 G-force. Racers attempt to get out in front at the start and maintain their position.
Mixed Team Relay: Two females will skate the first rounds of this race, and then two men skate the next two rounds. Skaters alternate this pattern until the end of the race.

The FISU World University Games is the largest international winter multi-sport event for collegiate-athletes. The Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, happening January 12-22, 2023, will bring 2,500 collegiate-athletes and delegation officials from more than 50 nations and 600+ universities to Lake Placid and the surrounding North Country region. This 11-day international educational event and competition is expected to be twice the size of Lake Placid’s 1980 Olympic Winter Games as athletes will be competing in 12 sports and 86 medal events.
