2024 Grand Prix Garden Party at Phipps Conservatory
Thursday, August 1 from 6:30 - 10:30 PM
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has planted the seeds for a new event in Schenley Park at the Phipps Conservatory.
The party will feature a variety of cars, as every PVGP event does. Expect to see a select representation of cars from MINI, our Marque of the Year, and our Microcar spotlight. We are pleased to feature cars from the Lane Motor Museum and our exhibit will focus on the small and unusual.
This Garden Party will feature passed hors d'oeuvres, palate-pleasing food stations, wine, beer and bar cocktails throughout one of the nation's oldest and largest Victorian greenhouses. It promises to be an elegant evening in the Tropical Forest, the Special Events Center, Parterre de Broderie and the Outdoor Garden. Phipps has collaborative exhibits mixing flower arrangements with internationally renowned glass artists, including Dale Chihuly and Hans Godo Fräbel. The greenhouses also feature Grecian urns, Japanese lanterns and stunning glass chandeliers.
Because the Conservatory will be open to the public until the party is set up, we cannot admit guests to the Phipps grounds until 7:00 pm. Early guests can visit the “Exhibition of Speed” paddock of Ragtime Racers and Vintage Indy. Ragtime Racers is a collection of 100-year-old race cars driven at speed by their drivers, dressed in period overalls, leather helmets and goggles. Vintage Indy is returning to Pittsburgh with its incredible collection of race cars that competed at the Indianapolis 500. Both groups will be on the track all weekend.
Car Show
Every PVGP event features amazing cars and the Garden Party will be no exception. There will be special parking on Schenley Drive for some select fine automobiles that our guests will surely arrive in. There is no fee for parking.
