MCFAB and CCC are excited to present 6lack with special guest Amaarae on April 20th in Barton Hall! Doors open at 6 PM, Show starts at 7 PM. Tickets starting at $15. 6lack is a Grammy award winning singer, rapper, and songwriter known for his Billboard Hot 100 songs “Prblms”, “OTW”, and “Calling My Phone”. Reflecting on his life and roots in Baltimore and Atlanta, 6lack has released 3 studio albums, “Free 6lack”, “East Atlanta Love Letter”, and his latest album “Since I Have A Lover”. 6lack’s songwriting is often focused on love, heartbreak, and relationships, with Billboard describing his music as “moody hip hop”. We are thrilled to bring 6lack’s incredible music to Cornell’s campus! Amaarae is a Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter known for her fusion of Pop, R&B, Afrobeats, and Alté music, creating a playful, intricate sonic landscape. In November 2020, Amaarae released her debut album, The Angel You Don’t Know, receiving an abundance of critical acclaim, including Pitchfork’s Best New Music accolade. The album featured SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY with Moily, which gained viral popularity on TikTok following a 2021 remix with Kali Uchis appearing on various international charts and reaching number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2023, Amaarae released her sophomore album, Fountain Baby. Fountain Baby received critical acclaim and virality on various social media platforms. Songs like Angels in Tibet, Reckless & Sweet, and Co-Star contain dreamy synths and syncopated rhythms, creating a playful yet emotional exploration into sexuality and desire.
