Ticket purchase is possible only for logged-in users.
The Cornell University Chorus and Glee Club present their 2024 Northeast Tour, featuring works spanning five centuries of choral music in nine different languages. The program will include a diverse array of styles from renaissance polyphony to late-Romantic Russian choral masterpieces, folk songs to lullabies, and modern anthems to J. S. Bach's intricately crafted motet Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf. Founded in 1868, the Cornell University Glee Club traditionally performs Tenor-Bass repertoire, and founded in 1920, the Cornell University Chorus has long been a champion of contemporary works for treble voices. The two groups will perform both separately and combined, and the program will feature performances from their respective a cappella subsets, The Hangovers and After Eight.
The Yale Glee Club, hailed by the New York Times as "one of the best collegiate singing, ensembles, and one of the most adventurous," is Yale's principal undergraduate mixed chorus and oldest musical organization, currently in its 163rd season. Their tour repertoire in 2024 includes new works by Shruthi Rajasekar and Ismael Huerta, as well as other works from a broad range of musical styles.
