Session I: This session will guide screening for human trafficking and fostering effective community collaboration, focusing on the Blue Dot Human Trafficking Initiative©. The discussion will cover care for trafficking victims in urban, rural, and tribal settings, along with research outcomes on the efficacy of collaborative care. Case studies will be shared, addressing various forms of trafficking, including sex, labor, elder, familial, and international victim recovery.
Session II: This presentation will offer an overview of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), detailing its mission to counter human trafficking and its counter-trafficking strategy. Participants will explore key topics, including the definition of human trafficking, the differences between trafficking and smuggling, trafficking characteristics, and the "victim-centered" approach. The session will also cover human trafficking typologies, what traffickers look for, signs to watch for, and how victims may respond to help, as well as ways for individuals to report potential human trafficking situations.
Session III: This session will discuss the roles of Child Advocacy Centers (CAC), the Life Crisis Center (LCC), and the new RGNV Program, which aligns with child abuse reporting laws. It will highlight the rise of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and its connection to Child Sexual Trafficking (CST), emphasizing prevention education and peer-to-peer initiatives. Participants will engage in activities to create "roadmaps" for addressing these issues and discuss strategies with key partners. The workshop will conclude with a video highlighting last year’s project, showcasing the impact of increased reporting, followed by a Q&A session.
