The Toronto-based electro-jazz duo Four80East will be collaborating with two special guests: guitarist JJ Sansaverino and saxophonist Art Sherrod.

Keyboardist/bassist/guitarist Rob DeBoer and percussionist Tony Grace began recording singles together with various session musicians in the 1990s. In 1997, their first release, called simply “The Album,” was a big success and is still a mainstay on contemporary jazz radio stations. Since then, they have not only produced seven more studio albums, but have taken their act on the road and, as a result, have added a double live album to their discography. Their latest releases are “Straight Round” (2020) and “Mixed Up” (remixes, 2021).

Sansaverino, a New York-based artist specializing in contemporary jazz, R&B, and reggae, has released four highly acclaimed albums, the latest of which is “Soul Energy” (2022). He has a busy touring schedule, performing on his own and with reggae legend Maxi Priest, and even played at Sir Paul McCartney’s wedding in 2002!

Sherrod, a native of Texas, plays gospel-influenced contemporary jazz. His latest album is “The Art of Love” (2021). He draws his inspiration from growing up in the church and hearing his mother playing the B-3 organ, and his father singing in the choir. Later, his influences included saxophonists Kirk Whalum, David Sanborn, Gerald Albright, and Kim Waters.
