Gerald Albright
Iconic jazz artist Gerald Albright started playing sax during his early years in Los Angeles, then switched to bass at the University of the Redlands. His versatility led to his being highly in-demand for sessions and touring; he played with Anita Baker, the Winans, Whitney Houston, the Temptations, and many other high-profile musicians.
Gerald launched his solo career at the beginning of the “smooth jazz” radio format. The 1987 release of “Just Between Us” resulted in his becoming a core part of that genre, with 19 studio albums -- the latest is “Not So Silent Night” (2019) -- and eight Grammy Awards. In September 2021 Gerald Albright received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joseph R. Biden.
