Enjoy all the glamour and festivities of Hollywood's biggest night right here in Rhode Island. The black tie optional event includes cocktail reception, plated dinner, awards reception, and live Oscar Telecast provided by our media sponsor, ABC 6.
The Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) will be celebrating its 42nd edition this year (August 6-11), and to kick off our season, we're thrilled to bring back our annual Oscar Night celebration in partnership with the Rhode Island Film and TV Office. RIIFF has secured its place in the global community as the portal for the best in international independent cinema; earning the respect of domestic and foreign filmmakers, filmgoers and trend watchers. This confluence of art and commerce brings together world-class celebrities, award-winning filmmakers, new talent and audience members in record numbers year after year to our beloved Ocean State. Our Red Carpet Experience celebrates Rhode Island's ever growing cinema arts community, and the people who are making it a reality.
Funding generated by The Red Carpet Experience: Providence will be used to underwrite the Festival’s 42nd Season in August, and such community outreach and educational programs as the Youth Film Jury, Rhode Island Film Forum; ScriptBiz, the Vortex Sci-Fi Film Festival; the Providence LGBTQ Film Festival; the Providence Underground Film Festival; the Roving Eye International Film Festival; the KidsEye™ Summer Filmmaking Camp; Flickers North Country Film Festival; the Francophone Film Festival and an expanded KidsEye International Film Festival in August with workshops, tutorials and youth screenings.
