We're so excited to announce this very special evening in which Sound Lounge patron and music writer-broadcaster Paul Sexton gets together with his old friend Phil Manzanera, the widely-travelled and highly distinguished artist, producer, songwriter and guitarist with Roxy Music.

They'll chat about Phil's fascinating life and times as described in his excellent new memoir 'Revolución To Roxy,' which was greeted with a raft of four-star reviews and was described by The Times as "a great, globe-trotting read." Manzanera estimates that he has worked on some 80 albums across more than 50 years, and there'll be video and audio highlights from his career on the night and photographs from the book, PLUS Phil is promising to bring his electric guitar and play a couple of numbers live!

Phil shot to prominence in the early 1970s as lead guitarist with the hugely seminal Roxy Music. He has been one of the UK’s best-known musicians and record producers ever since, and in June was recognised for his services to music with the award of an OBE. With Roxy, he's also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, playing with the band at their 2019 induction, and on a highly successful 50th anniversary tour in 2022. He'll be further celebrated with the November 1 release of the 11-CD retrospective '50 Years of Music,' to feature a 100-page book with photos, handwritten notes, tape boxes, scribbles, clippings, alternate artwork, lyrics, compositions and thoughts, as well as the original album booklets.

Phil's credits and collaborations as a writer, producer and solo artist form a remarkable list, including Steve Winwood, David Gilmour, John Cale, Godley and Creme, Nico (Velvet Underground) and John Wetton (King Crimson, Asia). He has co-written with such friends as Gilmour, Brian Eno, Tim Finn and Robert Wyatt, and reflecting his south American heritage, he's just as feted in the world of Rock en Español, producing albums for Draco Rosa, Enrique Bunbury, Héoes del Silencio, Aterciopelados, Paralamas and Fito Páez.

There'll be time for some questions to Phil from the audience towards the end of the evening. You'll also have chance to buy 'Revolución To Roxy' and Phil will sign your copy.
