Our season will open in September with a concert by the Valencia Baryton Project, a trio that provides a rare opportunity to hear the stringed instrument that graced the halls of the Esterhazy court in Austria during Haydn’s tenure. In October, we will welcome back to campus the internationally-acclaimed vocal ensemble Chanticleer. November will bring to our community the Trio Globo, an ensemble that is inspired by performance traditions from jazz and other musical styles from around the world. Immediately upon our return to campus in January, we will be treated to the artistry of American pianist Steven Spooner of the Peabody Institute in Baltimore. Coming from the opposite coast, Demarre McGill, principal flutist of the Seattle Symphony, will collaborate with pianist Daniel Schlosberg for a performance in February. The season will reach a festive conclusion with a trio of artists from the Dallas Symphony: Stephen Ahearn, clarinet; Haley Hoops, horn; and Anatasia Markina, piano.
