Keyboardist Oli Silk, a British native with a big following among international jazz fans, was named Debut Artist of the Year in 2006 by Smooth Jazz News, and also made his debut that year at the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival. In 2010, he was nominated for International Artist of the Year by the American Smooth Jazz Awards. He has created eight albums, most recently “6” (2020).
Singer/trombonist Aubrey Logan has gained much attention with her unique trombone playing, which ranges from tender to sassy, and her gorgeous voice. (Listen to her rendition of “The Way We Were” on her YouTube channel and you’ll be hooked!) Her three albums -- “Impossible” (2017), “Where the Sunshine Is Expensive” (2019), and “STANDARD” (2021) -- reveal an artist equally adept at jazz, funk, love songs and Calypso.
Trumpeter/singer Ilya Serov is a chameleon as comfortable with Brazilian bossa as he is with jazz, soul and R&B. Born in the former Soviet Union in 1986, he studied classical trumpet at the renowned St. Petersburg Conservatory, but preferred American jazz. He immigrated to this country at 21, and has built an already-remarkable career, performing throughout the Los Angeles area and at jazz festivals includingNewport Beach and Catalina JazzTrax. He has worked on jazz cruises and on the film score for “Creed II.” His ninth album, “Just Friends” (2021) features Dave Koz and other award-winning artists.
Berklee grad David P Stevens, an L.A.-based guitarist/singer has created eight albums, the latest of which is “Evolution,” featuring guests Jackiem Joyner, Will Donato and others.
From her aptly titled 2011 debut album, “Crossover,” to her latest, “Magic City Streets” (2023), flutist Kim Scott has become known for her beautiful tone as well as her skill at both classical and jazz genres. She performs with the Jazz in Pink ensemble and has gained a following throughout the world.
Contemporary jazz saxophonist Phil Denny has already had three hit singles from his latest album, “Urban Troubadour,” whose title song was No. 1 on Billboard at the start of 2022. In addition to touring and performing at major festivals internationally, he often plays as a sideman to Peter White.
Multi-percussionist Curtis McCain has worked with countless artists, including many favorites at Berks Jazz Fest, in his 24-year career as a touring and recording musician. Watch for him throughout this year’s. festival.
