Synopsis
Sejong Production is a small Korean American film production company located at the heart of Koreatown in Los Angeles - the sacred place for cinema. At Sejong, one-of-a-kind filmmakers, who are united by dreams and passion for filmmaking, shoot on a special journey challenging Hollywood and past the glass ceiling for immigrants and minorities.
As a director and head of Sejong Production, Ian finds himself on the edges of the mainstream industry. He attempts to break in by any means necessary, which include begging his famous friend for a project and pushing his artistic agenda during corporate shoots. Unfortunately, he miserably fails every time. Ian relies on his team members who are all talented yet unique in several ways. Eugene is a strict producer who likes to work by the book, unlike the free-minded and egoistic DP Kyle. Ian’s strong soldier Dain is a charismatic AD that stays very true to her straightforward nature. On the post-production side, Mina and Eddie are an unmatched duo with a bit of miscommunication flaws. Lastly, Sejong welcomes a new member to the team, Jamie, who is ever more eager to show off her exceptional prodigy skills.
From a music video project with the Disney star Aubrey Miller to a major brand commercial shoot, there is not one project Sejong successfully wraps. However, one project may change their fate: a commercial for a local Korean soup restaurant. Challenges still remain as the restaurant owner’s son, Sean, strongly refuses to let them film. A hidden layer of struggle exposes what lies in the reality of Sejong - as immigrants and unknowns veiled in the illusion of the American Dream. Sejong’s team members face inevitable conflicts that will discern whether to move forward with their passion.
