Young Bands Night

Welcome to the very first Sound Lounge Local Young Talent night, curated and presented by Matt Helm.

This month we are introducing three new bands to The Sound Lounge for a special night:

Cold July - A young Indie-Pop/Indie-Folk band from Guildford that draws influence from the classic singer-songwriters of the past, but deliver their songs through a youthful 21st Century lens, cultivating a sound that is both modern and timeless, appealing to multiple generations of music fans. The co-lead singer dynamic and 3-part harmonies may instantly recall Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac and the wider California music scene in the early 70s, but their memorable songs also lean heavily into the melodic sensibilities of Crowded House, the epic acoustic rock of the Goo Goo Dolls, the harmony-drenched indie-folk of more recent acts Flyte, The Dunwells, and Dry The River, the emotional heft of current female singer-songwriters Phoebe Bridges and Gracie Abrams, and the joyous indie-pop of The 1975. With a deep appreciation of music history, and passionate fans of an eclectic array of genres, there is a confidence that runs through this young band that is endearing and exciting in equal measure.

Type Red - Specialists in a range of music ranging from rock, blues, pop and metal. Dedicated to playing the music that people know and love. Expect classic songs that we all love as well as some more unusual deep cuts that you may have forgotten.

Monkey Sanctuary - A hard driving rock / metal band founded in 2024 and with a number of prestigious gigs to their name including appearances at The Purley Festival, The Cryer Arts Theatre and the Festival of Arts and Sustainability at Bourne Hall.
